A great voicenow, and really, for the future. You kicked ass.

It seemed difficult to get anyone to actually back your ass up, and, to be expected with 4 NDPers on side. For the most part, I agree with you thoughts. You were such a great balance/pull back for this. It does seem like the others stayed on message, which, admittedly I'd assume they would. What message though?..

Could current issues actually be discussed by Buzz, Judy, Lorne, and the cheerleader? Nationalization? of what currently? with what?... I agree all issues need to be brought up (Natives, women in the government), but there is an over-riding problem today for all Canadians; the economy. That's not to say that all other issues should be dropped, but please, for the love of the NDP, tell me how this, how you would deal with this! An idea?>! Every single person I talk to are talking about the economy. Small business in Ontario is getting hit by and only talking about the economy. Job loss, income loss, significant turnover reduction.

Anyway, it seems that during this economic crisis, the NDP are going back to an idealist state. Yes, I agree with them, but please, just mention one good idea to turn this all around for 1000's of people? And please, stop comparing yourselves to Obama, Judy.

The broadcast really would play like an infomercial without you Adam. Niki comes off as someone in power trying to make everyone in her riding happy, and to get weakly re-elected (and that's all). Judy comes off, again, to me, like there's unlimited money everywhere for everybody; everything is possible all the time. Well, these are really general ideals that we all actually love and believe in, but again, something concrete would be nice. Are you in the capacity to offer an alternative even? Way too general and idealistic; give me something solid. Buzz is Buzz; Union, union, union. If ever politician/henchman/leader can become corrupt from big money, union money has actually done it. One-track mind. At best, he's a left wing voice. Lorne is, fine.

One mystery is why the virus seems to cause more severe symptoms in young people: U.S. health officials say the median age of people hospitalized with swine flu is 15 years old. Researchers say that could be a troubling sign that young and healthy people are more vulnerable to the virus–but in a contradictory finding, researchers have also found that many of the people who have died from swine flu had preexisting health problems. One possible explanation, says Ferguson, is that flu viruses that resemble the current swine flu virus may be commonly seen in normal seasonal flu epidemics. Adults are more likely to have encountered those viruses and developed immunity to them, and it may be that in some cases this immunity is enough to provide protection against swine flu [Nature News].

Origins?

It is impossible to know from the available data where geographically the 2009 H1N1 virus came from, but with more samples, researchers may be able to decipher more clues, he (Raul Rabadan) said. Just from looking at the genetic code, it is unknown what species is the virus' host, how easily it is transmitted and how deadly it is.

Spinal Tap is going to play Glastonbury

Spinal Tap are to play the Glastonbury Festival in June, the band have confirmed.

As previously reported, the comedy rock act are to release a new album, "Back From The Dead", this summer.

The collection of old and new recordings will be accompanied by a series of live shows, including one at Wembley Arena in London.

The 25th anniversary of their rockumentary "This Is Spinal Tap" will also be celebrated with a show at the Somerset bash although there will not be a full tour.

Christopher Guest explained: "To be honest, we couldn't get that together. But we will do a couple of 'Tap shows in Britain, at Wembley Arena and the Glastonbury Festival."

Neil Young, Bruce Springsteen and Blur are the headliners at the 2009 event, which takes place on June 26-38.

HE EVEN ACTS LIKE HIM!!! The Non-chalance! Both always bring out the great examples of the past, with plenty of arm waving. Anyway, this talk is fantastic, and so beautifully has nothing to do with the economy. Definitely worth the listen. It gets absolutely Gladwell/fantastic after the first 5 minutes (ALL is worth watching). I think this is something you have to watch and listen, and not just play in the background. There is something about Gladwell's mannerism that help one understand/learn.

one other note.. it's great (and don't get me wrong Malcolm is an absolutely as fantastic a speaker as he is a writer - his ideas come through with colour) to see when Malcolm is confident with his statements. He tends finish with ", right", vs. when he is not 100% sure that the give will take (lots, of "ummm.."s early on and late - reading/memorizing vs. knowing intuitively - ie. very, very rarely in the middle during his British WWI example...). Now, in saying that, it could be my over-reading his speaking... but, both of us would probably say that we don't think so.

New energies not quite ready...

Something I've/we've been thinking here for a while was somewhat confirmed in the Times today; investment in new, green energies is not quite there, and more importantly, new, green energies are not quite there... more research time is needed. Nothing earth shattering really and something we all already know; just thinking that these techs are more than the 5-10 years away once wished (Bush and his hydrogen highway?). It seems business money is following Google's PowerMeter lead here. Btw, doesn't this sound like another real time vs. batch processing thingy?
