A bit busy...

So yeah, as you may have noticed, a bit of a slow down in posts these last few days... It's gonna last a bit longer, for two reasons... one, am going to be driving a Scottish Parliament member around the golden horseshoe over the next few days, and I rented a cello for a week! I have no training whatsoever on this thing, but have always wanted to play around with one... and here's my chance. I'm definitely not looking to become proficient on it (especially within a week!) but would like to start to feel comfortable around it... learn some scales, tuning, feel and hand positions, etc... It's been a blast so far...

But, in saying that, I'm hoping to still have time for a few awesome posts!

Andrew Bird show...

Umm.. quite the disappointment actually... I've seen him now 3 times, and each time was a disappointment. His music produced is good, melodic.. live, he fiddles with recorders, his melodies, tempos... totally different experience than with the albums. And you know, a little variety is good, but this was just a bit too much.. too slow, he looked a bit embarrassed up there half the time, shaking his head like stuff just wasn't working out. I though this time might be different because he was playing with a full band, but they too seemed hindered and lacked creativity...

Oh well, probably won't go to see him again.

Andrew Bird plays tomorrow at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre here in Parkdale!... well, maybe just south-east of Parkdale, (the Ex) but close enough..

Anyway, the opening band is A Hawk and a Hacksaw, who's one of two members was the drummer for Neutral Milk Hotel!.. cool eh?..

Cohen's Live in London DVD was released on Tuesday, and once I find the torrent I'll post it here. I've been told it was on CBC TV tonight, but I missed it... it probably wouldn't be shown complete, and also interrupted by commercials, so yeah, worth waiting for a full version...
