Spinal Tap is going to play Glastonbury



Spinal Tap are to play the Glastonbury Festival in June, the band have confirmed.

As previously reported, the comedy rock act are to release a new album, "Back From The Dead", this summer.

The collection of old and new recordings will be accompanied by a series of live shows, including one at Wembley Arena in London.

The 25th anniversary of their rockumentary "This Is Spinal Tap" will also be celebrated with a show at the Somerset bash although there will not be a full tour.

Christopher Guest explained: "To be honest, we couldn't get that together. But we will do a couple of 'Tap shows in Britain, at Wembley Arena and the Glastonbury Festival."

Neil Young, Bruce Springsteen and Blur are the headliners at the 2009 event, which takes place on June 26-38.
